Christmas 2008

Have you ever had a bad Christmas? I have to say this was the worst Christmas for me. Sunday night after our Kids Christmas play, I went to the Carrs house for a party. Ha, I guess I was so drunk (JOKE) that when I got home I got out of the truck and slipped and fell...Ouch! The most intense pain I have EVER had in my life! I thought I broke my right foot! Didn't want to go to ER so I went to bed in pain and went Monday for X-Rays only to find out that it was only severely sprained..Thank God it wasn't broken but, it still hurt and, I couldn't walk at all or drive. Ugh! There goes my Christmas. It is almost one week later and it's still swollen and turning green...EWW! We did however, have the best Children's Christmas Play Ever and Ciara did say to me yesterday that...This was the best Christmas ever! Well, that's good...if hers was the best....then mine was the best too! Whatever makes her happy....makes me happy too!

Youth Retreat 2008. It was great and all together wonderful! The power of God moved in a great way. The first night ended up being a powerful night of prayer. Young people digging in deep with God. Saturday Pastor taught on...making a clearing..drawing a line between yourself and the things of the world. Things that the world offers or draws us to will cause a scar that will last a lifetime and memories you want to forget and cannot forget. Make a clearing around your life saturated with rain of God just as the mountain people make clearings around their homes saturated with water. Very impacting. Bro. Johanas was totally awesome Saturday night and again the windows of heaven were open and the rain came down. I think this is a year that the kids will never forget.

Youth Retreat 2008

Today is the big day for all the youth, church kids and some of the bus kids! How exciting for them and as for me...I'm the little old lady that's going to chaperon...Hahahaha I might need a chaperon. LOL I can probably be worse than the kids...You have to live life to the fullest! I just turned 45 yesterday. Yikes! But, I feel young at heart and in spirit. Yes, we are going to have a blast...Some of the kids keep asking me if I'm excited. Yes!! Now I am! Hopefully I get some sleep up there and some snow and a great refreshing from the Lord and of course great pictures for this blog. We are going to Angelus Oak, right up here above me where I live where it's FREEZING COLD! Probably not as cold as some places..but cold enough for me. Anyone that reads this blog...Pray for a move of God at out youth retreat. The youth in our world today are in need of a constant help from the Lord!

Thankful...Much Gratitude

Well, Thanksgiving is over! And oh, how thankful I am for family and all my friends. Sometimes you just need a friend to talk to when somehow a family member wouldn't begin to understand. I know you know what I mean. I had a great Thanksgiving. We had turkey and ham with all the trimmings....and....a delish..pumpkin roll, pumpkin pie and apple pie. It was sooo tasty, I didn't want to stop eating. Ugh! But at the same time I didn't want to roll away from the table...LOL At our dinner, I do most the cooking and cleaning as I go so when dinner is done everyone else does the clean up. But, sometimes I feel kinda bad so I go in and do a few things in there and walk out...quickly...LOL I wouldn't want them to think I'm there to do it...hahaha I'm thankful for my husband. We've been married 17 years soon to be 18 come this May 25...WoW! Sometimes I wonder how I even made it and other times I think wow, I did it and still doing it. We have a great relationship until some small tiny or big stress comes along and we overreact. But I think it's the same probably for every healthy relationship. If you never have a disagreement, than you don't properly grow and learn how to make it better in a relationship. I learn very early in my marriage (being that I was already 27) that It's a give and take in a marriage for it to be successful. I give God all the glory for that and always remind myself to keep Him in the midst our relationship.

I'm thankful for my very good bestest friend Chris. We have been through ups and downs in the life of our friendship and still hanging on as friends..these ups and downs in a friendship can make you stronger as friends if you allow it. I've learned to be a more loyal and trusting friend and I hope we remain friends til the end of life. I love you friend! And I have other friends...I love my friends, Rose and Dee Ann...My friends are younger than me but, that's OK! It keeps me young.

I'm thankful for my kids..They make me a better mother. I'm thankful for my Children's Ministry team. I'm thankful for my very bestest uncle in the whole world. When I say the bestest...if you knew him, you'd know why. I love you Uncle Bob! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Always save the best for last. I wish my uncle didn't live far away because we'd be making pies together. Oh, Yes we would! Yum!

Never would have made it....Marvin Sapp

This is a song our group did for Pastors 23rd church anniversary. I had never heard the song before and now I listen to it nonstop! This song says it all....I never would of made it without you..I've been in church since I was 6 years old and I'll be 45 this year and all I can say is wow, I never would of made it...without God. I sit and think what it would of been like if I didn't grow up in the church..I really don't know what or where I'd be...perhaps just a normal sinner..nothin' wild although my friends say I'm crazy and I guess I'm fun to be around...hahaha (it's healthy to have a good opinion of yourself so I've been told). I've had a few rough times when I didn't think I would make it at all..I think one of the worst times is when my husband left the church..now, that was painful and very lonely. But, I have grown in the mist of it all. The hard part is raising 2 children all alone in the church with the help of God and my church family..Thank God for them. All I can do is hope and pray that I made the right choices in life for myself and for my children as we continue to grow in Him.

My Uncle

This is my uncle Bob! This man is the best uncle in the world. He has great character, he's funny..when we get together (which is not enough) we laugh most of the time. He's doing very well for an 80 year young. After everything he's been through..he's healthy and looks fantastic and I pray the Lord blesses him with many more years to come. My cousin Gary pastors up in WA state and has since moved my uncle in to lead the Sunday evening service and even sometimes preach. Preach? My uncle preach? Wow! Yes, God can even use a 80 year young! The bible says....Whatsoever thy hands findeth to do, do with all thy might. Ecclesiastes 9:10 Keep searching the scriptures and learn all you can. And what you don't search, I pray you stumble across the scriptures that the Lord God wants to reveal to you. I love you uncle Bob and pray for you always. Keep doing God's work!

Commission

1 a : a formal written warrant granting the power to perform various acts or duties2 : an authorization or command to act in a prescribed manner or to perform prescribed acts : CHARGE 3 a : authority to act for, in behalf of, or in place of another b : a task or matter entrusted to one as an agent for another 4 a : a group of persons directed to perform some duty.

The bible says to Go ye therefore unto all the world....We may not be able to go unto all the world but we can sure do city we live in. Our church, Hope Center has a great envangelism team, we really do...some may already know but most don't even know it yet! We have a great bus ministry! They go out every Wednesday night...Yes, Wednesday night!! And, they go out every Sunday morning. Out of our total kids attendance, we have at least 60% that come on the bus or vans....60% Wow! Imagine if we didn't have those ministries..? We would still have our regular church kids and oh how great they are and we love them so but, we wouldn't be reaching out as the bible has commanded us to.

I love outreach. I love connecting to children. I love to see kids get the Holy Ghost and see the sheer joy on their faces. We often have so much on our plates that we tend to get everything else done and all of a sudden the Saturday has passed us by and....we didn't go out on outreach! I have made a pledge to myself that I will go out at least one Saturday a month (I know that's not much) but, I do believe that the Lord honors it and if everyone would go once a month all on the same Saturday for a couple of hours what a great impact that would be. I do encourage all my teachers and helpers to commit yourselves and see what God will do!

Stampin Up with Rose

OK, so I did it again. It's been alooooong time since I did card making with Rose, only because my honey was off work for soooo long...but now, I'm getting back into the swing of things taking time out of my busy schedule to relax with friends and make a few cards...or I might add..after the first card I'm ready for a nap....hahahahaha that is so crazy but it's true. I was ready to nap and I still had 8 more cards to make...hahaha Thanks Rose for the invite! Maybe for the next class I can bring some kind of Christmas treat or cookie. Yum! Glad you all like the brownies. I met some new people there today and got to know Tamara but I did miss some of the oldie moldies like Chirs, Stacy, Roberta and Susie....Be there next time girls or be square!

Happy Birthday Michael

Can you believe it? This little boy is "15" today! Wow how time flies. Michael was born Sept 30, 1993 at 6:50pm at the St. Bernardine's Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. He weighed in at just a hair under 9 pounds. This guy had a great personality from day one. Always making people laugh. He is a joy to have, wouldn't trade him for the world! Happy Birthday Michael! Keep your heart open and God will use you if YOU allow him to. Love you. Michael at the age of 3 and 14 and 15 with his new electric guitar. He plays at Hope Center and is becoming a great musician.

Wednesday Night Kids Decipleship

On Wednesday night we have classes for the kids instead of classes on Sundays (on Sunday we have Kids church) like probably most churches. We want to have classes for the kids so we can be on a more personal level and teach more one on one in small group sessions. We teach bible stories, lessons for life and memorize scriptures. We have Missions Wednesday once a quarter where we learn about a country, the missionary there, type of foods they eat and their culture. We have rotation Wednesday every other week where one class would do the game, one would do the craft and one would do the lesson. Since we have started this, our attendance has went up which is a good thing..We love teaching and knowing that the kids want to be there. They're not only learning but having fun at the same time.

Greatest kids in the world.

Hope Center has some of the greatest kids a church could ever have. We had our annual Children's Revival with Bro. Jeremy Joyce which proved to be successful as always. We did our usual planning and getting things done and fighting demons along the way and I thought why? The devil knew we were going to be successful and he was trying hard to block us and do anything to get in our way. We had a great outreach team on Saturday of the revival weekend and Bro. Joyce went along with us and that night we had 105 kids...WoW! Praise God!! 10 kids received the Holy Ghost that weekend! And we are still reaping from the harvest. This last Sunday night we had 3 kids get baptised.....And....we had 4 more people received the gift of the Holy Ghost..I am so thankful for the blessings of God. I could go on and on and on.. Thank you Jesus!

As The Deer

As the deer panteth for the water So my soul longeth after Thee You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship Thee

You alone are my strength, my shield To You alone may my spirit yield You alone are my heart's desire And I long to worship Thee

You're my friend and You are my brother Even though You are a king I love You more than any other So much more than anything

I want You more than gold or silver Only You can satisfy You alone are the real joy giver And the apple of my eye
